The new 45 nm fabrication process enables the 5400 series Quad-core Intel® Xeon® micro-architecture with higher bus speeds, enhanced memory virtualization, improved cache, and better scalability across the cores and processors. With enhanced multi-core scalability, it’s the ideal processor for heavy multi-tasking in and for running multi-threaded applications. The Advanced Smart Cache feature minimizes memory traffic by allowing a core to use the whole cache if the other core is idle. The Quad-Core Intel Xeon's FSB is an impressive 1600MHz for fast communication with system memory and other components.
