The two CPUs are specifically tuned and optimized by BOXX Labs to work flawlessly with data from the RED ONE ™ camera in ASSIMILATE SCRATCH ™ CINE.
BOXX Labs is also chiefly concerned with achieving stable performance under continuously heavy workloads.
That is why BOXX Labs has carefully matched the performance level required to handle RED ONE data with a special cooling solution to create a digital film workstation that delivers the stability that film production and post-production professionals expect.
A by-product of the special CPU cooling solution is that the redBOXX is very quiet in keeping with a core BOXX promise to deliver systems designed for creative environments.
BOXX Labs thoroughly understands the performance requirements of each stage of the DI process. The upgrade options available for the redBOXX allow for SDI out, SAN connectivity and storage scalability to accommodate projects of different size.

redBOXX will play-out 4K data from the RED ONE ™ camera with ASSIMILATE SCRATCH CINE ™ at 2K resolution (2048 x 1536) in real-time (24 fps) and full quality with full debayer without ever dropping a single frame.
This rock-solid performance has been tested by BOXXLabs and independently verified by professionals in actual production situations.
Color-grading on-the-fly of RED ONE ™ data
The redBOXX can color grade RED CODE RAW data in ASSIMILATE SCRATCH CINE ™ software at full quality 2K resolution (2048 x 1536) in real-time (24fps) .
This means you can pre-grade your footage on set to manage the look and mood during shooting.
You can even throw in a vignette and keep the same level of performance.
Fast rendering of RED ONE ™ data to DPX or TIFF
The redBOXX will transcode .r3d data to DPX and TIFF at 4K resolution with ASSIMILATE SCRATCH CINE ™ , cutting out the need to send files to be processed by an expensive telecine.
Performance benchmarks show that 4K data is transcoded to 4K DPX at about an 18:1 ratio of rendering time to real-time at full process.
Benchmarks also show that the redBOXX transcodes 4K data to 2K DPX at a 10:1 ratio of rendering time to real-time at full process.
The redBOXX can transcode 4K resolution data with ASSIMILATE SCRATCH CINE ™ to Quicktime ™ format at 2K at a 7:1 ratio of rendering time to real-time at full process.
